GOMEL, 19 April (BelTA) – Representatievs of the European Commission are to visit the Gomel Oblast on 26-27 April for consultations regarding a possibility to provide technical aid to the Gomel Oblast to foster its social and economic development, BelTA learnt from the press service of the Gomel Oblast Executive Committee.
The delegation will include Laura Garagnani, Head of Operations Delegation of the European Commission to Ukraine and Belarus and other high-ranking EC officials. High on the agenda will be the elaboration of the Annual Action Program 2011 and an interim assessment of the National Indicative Program 2007-2013. Apart from that, the parties will hold consultations on the possible development and implementation of the Gomel Oblast regional development program for 2011-2013 within the framework of the European Neighborhood and Partnership Instrument.
The EC delegation is expected to meet with executives of the Gomel Oblast Executive Committee and review the progress in the implementation of the EC/UNDP international technical aid project “Area Based Development of the Chernobyl-Affected Areas”.
